You could have looked in your HELP for MOVE, this is a VERY basic command.  Click on your element and on the Modify tab under Modify panel select the Move command and move your line.  Or select your element and type mv and move it by typing in whatever you want.

Hey I've been using AutoCAD, ArchiCAD etc for a long time. There's no need to be condesending. I was moving the line by clicking and dragging and no value window for input was coming up. Since the cursur looks like the cursor for move i assumed it was a global trend. My bad for thinking y'all would treat people with respect.

I was not being condescending but I don't understand why users can't do very simple one word searches.  Your question says you never even looked.  Thinking you can use your CAD experience to run Revit is a mistake.  Learn the product then complain when something is truely missing.

I also was not trying to be rude and nobody disrespected you... I answered your question.  I also told you the first place that you should look before you ask the question.  You won't always get an immediate response on RevitCity as we do have full-time jobs so learning to use the HELP can be quicker than sitting around waiting for an answer sometimes.

I sure am, and I'm a fully registered architect with 40 years experience starting with hand drafting then autocad 2.6 in the 80's and finally Revit about 1999.

We really like it when we have users come here and ask hard, well thought out questions.  Revit is fun and I learn more every day from quality users.  Not all questions are easily answered by looking in the help but failure to do so is really a fundamental flaw.  I think it's like cheating on an exam - asking someone else to do the cheater's work.  I resent that and I'm old and I call it like it is.   Not sorry for saying what is.

I completely agree with you 100% Hub. You, the moderators, and for the most part, the rest of the users online are very patient and courteous in putting a helping hand out there so that another user may achieve their goals when they are faced with a dilema. Keep up the good work and thanks.

I asked the general population for help. I didn't ask you specifically. Yes, It was solvable by the help menu I know that but I've been using it all day for the last two weeks trying to learn Revit and I had had enough of it. If you have a problem with me reaching out to people instead of a Help Menu then maybe you shouldn't of answered my question. Forums are supposed to help confused people not call them cheaters. But hey I'm young and I call it like it is.
