Working in Revit 2014
For instance, when specifying an offset, is there a way to specify the distance without having to click in the little "Offest:____" bar & having to drag over to select the existing text, then quickly type dimension?
In Autocad, you just have to type the command & type the distance. Much more efficient...
Trying to streamline my detailing over here.

Revit does better then CAD. Don't do offest. Just start to place and when you see the temporary dimension, you don't even have to pick it. Just type your number.

Thanks for the reply, WWHub.
I hear ya. However, in a complex drawing with many lines / objects / detail components, this rarely performs as desired. I'm looking for a shortcut to get the cursor in that silly little box. I feel like it's one of the few things that I have to go to the tool bar for. I had a feeling that this shortcut does not exist, probably needs to be a wishlist item.
Maybe my workflow is just wonky from streamlining my CAD drafting...

Ha! yes. KS! I'm pretty far gone from the OOTB shortcuts at this point ;-)
I also use a programmed RAZER Mamba.

Mind if I ask what 3Dconnection you use?

Just a SpaceNavigator. I'm strictly architecture, if I was doing Intense 3D modeling one of their other $$$$ products might be convenient, but right now my left hand is on a small keyboard, typing commands. I switch over to the SpaceNavigator when I'm in perspective (checking work, showing things to clients, getting a sense of spaces). Then I have a handful of my most frequently used commands programmed into the RAZER Mamba...
