Hi All ,

My question relates to shading elements. I have found it helpful to shade members when modelling to help identify different structural

elements on screen.  I have noted some existing RFA families will display shaded and others will not.??

I have just started making my own structural steel sections from templates (Metric Structural Framing - Beams and Braces.rft ) but

have not been able to set shading to new family members, they all shade grey.

Materials and Finishes  /   Structural Materials,  is available in the Properties Palette , but when a new material is applied

the beams , remain grey........

 What am I missing  ???

(I’m using  Architectural 2014)

Thanks in advance

V Ugly

To anyone interested, I have resolved this issue. During the “Edit Extrusion” process it is necessary to click the small tag on

the far right of the Profile Palette in the “Materials “ row and select “Structural Material”.

LEARNING REVIT = NO HAIR,       bald and ugly ........mmmmmmmm........

Just another point to perhaps look into if you are just trying to "color code" things for easier reading would be Filters
