I've attached a pic of the problem, I have made a custom rail, i have choose the baluster placement to start and end with a newel post, for some reason the last baluster is inside the newel post and the railing extends to the center of the post, I would like the railing to stop at the post and the last baluster to be the newel post.

I have searched help and the forums and have tried most settings in baluster placement, rail properties, just about everywhere else i can think of. Any help would be grealy appreciated.

sorted it out, i clicked on the rail-edit type-edit baluster placement  in the post section i changed the space (in this case the start post to 6" and end post to -6") then clicked ok.  In my project browser i found the rail type i was using under familys and clicked to edit it, i changed the extensions to wall and set them at a distance of 4" so they would meet the side of my newel post.
