Hello, I have a couple of issues, when I created a new rail profile and entered it into my project it turned sideways. I have posted a pics of the profile with properties and also the 3d view of what has gone wrong.

Also as you can see the balusters I created from a new family baluster template are not cutting to meet the rail, I am not sure what is going on here, I could not find a lock on the template screen to lock the baluster to the cut line, though I'm not sure if that is the problem or not. I have locked all portions to the refence planes that I could. I have also attached a pic of what I did for the family.

Look at your rail profile.... the top is below the profile.  Change that.

I don't know what you mean about turning sideways............
