I am still in the early stages of learning but I cannot find an answer to one of my biggest questions. How to break up a building with Revit into Units? My wish list item would be a key plan with a dynamic way to break it up. Change the key plan unit break lines and the units (and corresponding views) would adjust. Since I don’t seem to have that option, does anyone have any thoughts on the best way to break apart a large building to place it on sheets? –or am I thinking too much like AutoCAD still. Is there a better way? Any thoughts on this matter are greatly appreciated.

We put matchlines on the MASTER FLOOR PLAN, duplicate the view for each quadrant, and use crop regions to isolate each quadrant of the floor plan. As far as a keyplan is concerned.we: export the floor plan to DWG outline the building footprint and delete everything else shade each quadrant save seperate DWGs for each quadrant and import them each into our sheets Post edited on 2006-02-24 14:08:57

For key plan, I made a workset called key plan (traced the building in the work set), then made a jpeg of the footprint and I bring it into every plan, then I use "filled region" (check box to bring it to foreground) to place the hatch over the jpeg. It is annoying because I have about 20 1/8" plans and 42 1/4" plans to bring it into, but it works for now, until I find an easier way.
