I am thinking of buying a new MPB retina 15" fully loaded with 1 TB drive etc.

I have been using macbook i5 for 4 years and running parallels and win 7.  No real problems, just slowing down now when using mavericks OS etc.

As I now use all PC software for CAD (sketchup, Revit and ACAD) and the MAC side for my photo editing, teaching, ibooks etc.

My question: Will it be better to configure the new mac as 50% windows and 50% Mac (bootcamp) when needing to crunch away on CAD, boot up as a PC  and for my other stuff Boot up as MAC.  BUT, using parallels when I need to "dip" into CAD without rebooting. I assume that parallels will use the bootcamp partition as its virtual drive.

I will use an external monitor with the MBP.  I remember reading  issues about parallels not using the graphics cards as best as it could (not sure if this was rumour or fact).

Thanks
