My firm is in the process of coverting over to Revit. Our office size is 40 people and no more than five persons work on a project at a time and we have all disciplines in house. We do alot of small projects nothing major but has all disciplines involed. My question is how should we go about setting up projects, and which model should we use as the central model to do the annotations and set sheets up? Ive made templates for each disciplines and someone said that I didnt need to do that because the projects are so small so combine the templates in to one///// Is that a good plan? Ive found by doing so I was unable to use certain componets when placed in a different template. (Ex. In a arch temp if you place a panel board you cant give if a system distribution name. Ive been using Revit for 5yrs now and never had to use central maolds or linked models because I was the only designer at the time. Im just asking for a little feed back on the different ways to get my firm going in the right direction..... (PS I'm the only modeler in the office now if that helps with any answers.

Thanks

First, central models (work sharing) can be beneficial on even small - one person projects but that is not required.  We often start as single projects and then later convert to work sharing when we think there will be an advantage.

If you are doing multidiscipline projects then I encourage you to do seperate linked projects and enable worksharing.  One template is NOT the way to go.
