Occasionally, I have reason to move a bunch of things at once, and I will grab them all, walls, doors, etc.  I have usually forgotten to grab the ceiling and the moving of those parts and pieces causes the ceiling to get deleted. The warning comes up before they get deleted but after taking the time to select the 50 things i need to move, I decide i don't want to do that again so i just chalk up the ceiling deletion to the price you pay to get what you want.

I have opened a brand new project, put walls and a floor and a ceiling in and monkeyed with the walls, and different ways of creating the ceiling to see if i can duplicate the deletion error and discover what is going wrong.  I haven't been able to figure it out.  You can click in the space and make a ceiling, but that works fine.  You can draw lines around the perimeter of the room but that works fine too.  You can align the sketch lines to the walls but that works fine as well.  You can even lock the lines to the walls and there's no problem.

Any ideas?  Some times this happens with the floors as well.

Thanks,

Dan

If you sketch the ceiling, it will not be deleted but if you remove the items the created an automatic ceiling, then it will be deleted.  You may also have problems if you use the pick walls in a sketch rater than pick lines.
