I created a wall with a 2" air space on the inside so my girst will show in the 3d views. My problem is the whole wall is transparent from the inside view.

How do I make the wall only transparent for the 2" air space. If i shrink the wall by removing the air space then the wall thickness is incorrect in plan and section.

Intent: To see only 2" of the 8" girt in the wall fron the inside in a 3d view. Marketing wants shaded views.

Do it has two walls that are joined and turn off the inner wall in your 3D view.

Do you mean add a second wall behind the first?

Try making the air material transparent in the material editor itself. There is a "Transparency" option in the material editor assuming you have the correct material properties picked in the first place. Its on the "appearance" tab of that particular material.
