Hi, I’ve just modified a family of doors I had and Im having some problems.

I’m in Finland and here the apartment doors are double so they have two leafs, and they may have different handedness.

Therefore I modified a family I had so that I can have 4 Types, one for each possible door opening. (see attachment)

The idea behind this (and not making various families) is that once inserted it can’t be flipped and when tagged the handedness matches the drawing, so I even deleted the flip control.

My problem is that when I want to insert one of the doors and hover over the wall depending on where the mouse is the doors seem to flip anyway!

So If I don’t place it properly I might get a door that opens to the left that when tagged displays that it opens to the right.

Is there a way to tell revit not to even give the possibility to flip on insert?

You can control the flip by hovering over one side of the wall or the other and by pressing space bar, there is no way to have revit just know what door and orientation you want without telling it yourself while inserting

You should put the flipper back in the family and know what side the flipper should be on so you can tell that it was placed correctly.
