Hi, I use several assembled stair types in my project and my issue is the following:

I can't seem to get different materials applied for each stair. When I change the materials in one, the change reflects on all the other stairs.

The only way I know, is to change the materials in the "run type properties". Is there a way to duplicate those ?

Thanks a lot in advance,

Best Regards

Daniel

Hover over your stair and click tab to select the RUN and not the entire stair family, you can then edit the run type and duplicate it.

You can duplicate a Run Type when making a stair.

Draw your assembled staircase, next you need to go to click "Edit Type" under "Stair properties".

In the Type parameters window you must click on "Run Type" under "Construcution", you'll see a square with 3 dots, click on this.

Revit will open the "Run Type properties", now you can duplicate the run type, and make as many types as you need.

You can also make duplicate using the Family Browser > Stair > Non-monolithic Run. Right-click on the type you want to duplicate and go to Type properties.

Thanks everyone. I just found out that it didn't work with element stairs. I guess you need to do a sketch based stair to be able to have personallised stair types.

Wrong.  Did you read the posts?  You can create stair by components and have different types.

Hmmm. No matter how many time I try it, it wont let me.

Maybe it's because I have a student version ? When I select the Run in the component mode, duplicate is greyed out. And when I create a stair type, choosing the component mode sends me back to the standard assembled stair type.

You cannot make a duplicate when selecting the Run itself. Like I said earlier, you have to do this under the Type Properties of the Assembled Stair, or do it via the Family Browser.
