Hi all. Does anyone know if I can use a text parameter in an if statement?

test1 is my text parameter

if(test1 = "Please Work","Alright","Oh No") returns (improper use of boolean expressions)

but if I replace test1  with an integer parameter for example it works fine

test2 is my integer parameter

if(test2 = 11,"Alright","Oh No") this works fine.

What I need is if my text parameter = "what ever" my yes/no parameter gets a check.

Thanks.

You need to look at your HELP: >

Conditional Statements in Formulas

You will not see any text evaluators - only text results

I had already looked into the help and could not find anything. That is why I refered to this forum. Lots of helpfull input when all else fails.

Thanks.

Yes .... just like life.  We are told what we can do.  The list for what we can't do is way too large to list.
