Hi there,

I'm designing a couple of furniture ranges in Revit 2014.

I was wondering how I would go about creating instances with drawers/doors open and closed, so far I've had to

create separate families. I have a basic understanding of how to create instances, but not had any luck with this.

See the attached image for an example

Cheers

You can have two different solids in your family for your doors - one open, one closed - then you set visibility of those based on a new parameter that you create.

so for the drawers I'd just alternate the visibility settings? or would I be able to make a 'placement' parameter? or just simply create a new instance and move the elements?

The visibility setting can be a type based or instance based parameter.  The controlling parameter might be a T/F parameter like OPEN and the visibility setting can be an IF....
