In Revit 2013, I can change the hatch pattern in my detail componet family to any scale in the world and reload the family into my project and it and it still comes in at this huge scale. this is not true of all patterns though, which is weird. The standard issue vertical line pattern comes in to the scale I choose, but the horizontal one comes in with the lines at 16'-0" on center no matter what I make the line distance in the family editor. Also I imported an AR-CONC pattern and same thing. I can change the scale in the detail component to anything and it still shows up huge in my project.
