What I've heard so far is that Revit 9 will make detailing and categoring of same, much easier and less cumbersome. Also that the release date is in late March to early April. I need one more license of Revit, so will hold off on buying it until it is released. In the meantime, I'm using the free trial version on the other computer. JOHN

John, It would be nice to clean up some of its detailing capibilities, that appears to be wher it is lacking. Also you may be able to get the 8.1 release and then they will give you the latest version, that's what I did when I bought 8.0, within 30-45 days of the release of 8.1. Could be different when they make a full version jump. Richard E. Ditter, Architect

Hi, Richard The new Revit will be $250 more, so I just went ahead with another subscription program. It will be a new full-release....Revit 9. Autodesk says they do not offer an upward migration for Revit users; you can't pay $200 and upgrade your Revit 8 to release 9, so that's another reason.... John

Do you know if the subscription for release 9 is going to be $695? Richard

I paid $595 for my Release 8 sub; I'm not sure how much the Release 9 subscription will be. I do know that if you want to "upgrade" from 8 to 9, for example, you'll have to pay the current subscription plus a $100 late fee, at least according to my Autodesk reseller. JOHN
