To all out there....   how do we assign multiple finishes to a wall and tag each finish without making major

changes to the structure of the wall,  we have a room within a room basically which has the same structure with

various different types of finishes.

Are all of the finishes on the same base like paint is?  Simply split the surface in elevation and paint the color (finish).  Unless we need it for rendering or material takeoffs, we do this all as 2D only graphics.

 

NOTE:::: You can only tag these finishes in an elevation view.  In a plan or section view, only the cut material will tag.

cheers wwhub,

you mention 'only the cut material will tag.' what if i have a solid brick wall which will receive

two diffrent paint finishes on either side ??  plus what parameter must be incl to pick up these

two finishes..

Look at what I said.   Only the material in plan or section that is exposed by the cut plane will tag.   In other words, the material has to be there at the view plane - not above or below it.  Obviously all materials on a wall face are taggable in an elevation view.  You can only tag what you can see!
