I am using a tile surface pattern on a bathroom floor and the problem is that is show through everything- the fixtures, the doors, cabinets, etc. Is there any way to make it so that the pattern will only show through in space and through solid objects? See attached image

one quick way would be to not use the tile pattern in plan, and use a filled region in the area you want to have hatched. it isnt the most desireable solutions, but if you are in a bind that will work. i had to use that as a temporary solution a couple of times.

You can try this: 1. Create a Detail Component with a solid Filled Region in the shape of your fixture 2. Import that Detail Component into your Plumbing Fixture or Furniture Family 3. Draw an vertical invisible model line 4. Insert the new family into your project That's for 2D Furniture and Fixtures. For 3D Furniture and Fixtures just make the components VISIBLE in Plan View Post edited on 2006-02-17 22:52:10

If you have Revit 2008, you can add a masked region to the plan view of your fixture families.  This will cover anything beneath it, including surface patterns.
