Hi guys... I'm in the process of annotating my drawings and ran into a problem.

I'm using material keynotes on an elevation an it's all good until I have to annotate a particular window family.

The keynote only shows a question mark. I am puzzled because I checked that the material has the correct keynote, that the proper material is assigned to the family within the project, and I even opened the family to assign the keynote to the glass in there... still, nothing.

The keynote works on another family (see attachments). I'm using Revit 2013.

Is that same exact glass assigned in both families?  Open the family and look at the element that is the glass.  Even thogh the material is set, that may not be the material used.

Hi WWHub, thanks for the response. I had checked it before, but I went back and checked it again, the same material is assigned to both. I made sure and reloaded all the families and still nothing. Any other ideas as to what may be wrong here?

It turns out I didn't realize that the family was a nested family, and the components had to be shared... See here:
