Revit 2012
I've been trying to figure this out for ages. I know an in-place void will cut a roof extrusion (from the roof tab) but I can't seem to get any void to cut any in-place roof.
The dormer I want is not a half circle, but slightly stretched (elipctical) and slopes a bit. So rather than an extrusion I did a blend. If there are better ways please do share.
Here are images of a quick setup just to show what I want accomplished. I'm really thinking I'm missing something obvious here.
Thank you in advance

hi
i dont know why this thread is unanswered.
if this is still unsolved. you must create the void inside where you created your blend.
select the in-place, edit, create void, cut the void and blend, close the in-place editor.
and also, if you used roof by extrusion... model your extrusion a bit short, then use the JOIN/UNJOIN ROOF under MODIFY tab.. no in-place void needed to achieve what you are trying to do on your images.
