Is there a way to have a modeling component attached to a family in a project and read the hosts parameters. It it seems I should be able to do it somehow, for example how beams get "held" back from other structural elements.
For instance, If I made a complicated base plate family. Is there a way to attach the base plate component family to the column in a project file. Inside thhe project, specify a shared parameter of the structural column. . . and the base plate family update.
I can get this to work in a column .rfa family, but I would rather not have to building baseplates into the column family.
Any thoughts?
