This is very simple, I know. I made a 2d component to show where our lintels will be on the plan. I want to be able to move the lintel mark (L-1) around. Currently, it is in a fixed location. Can you help? I have attached the family.

You really can't do what you want to do.  The Lintel mark needs to be seperate.

Why are you not using the elements built into Revit?  You can use a model element and tag it.

We don't model cmu block lintels. We mark it on the plan and include a schedule on our drawings.

I understand but you are using Revit.  Why not use the power of this program?

You can "draw" a model lintel just as fast as you can draw your line.  And the model element will schedule and tag.

Does Revit have cmu block lintels?

I was under the impression that you also have to be careful what you do model because of file size, etc.

I would assume you use the precast concrete beam family.

I guess that would be an option, but it would not be correct. We use reinforced cmu masonry block.

Ok, thanks

Your original question did not say this was reinforced masonry so I assumed steel and your next post still didn't say that so I assumed precast.

You mean lintel block with rebar?

Then I would probably use a family modified from the precast family that would tag accordingly.  But lets see if anybody just shows the rebar?
