Ok so I need to add some structure to a render I am doing for a patio. The awnings are just the generic ceiling model in Revit and I need to add something similar to a stage truss as found here on Revit City but a much much smaller version. I have tried modifying that but it doesnt go too well. Is there a family out there already or a technical name I can use to better search for one? Or is simply taking the time to make one myself the better option here? I am still much of a novice when it comes to making a family from scratch.

I don't know what a stage truss is so you will need to attach an image of what you want.  If it is something that is custom to your project you will most likely have to make the family yourself, which if you are a novice can be hard but it is essential to learn this anyway to become proficient in Revit.
