I really appreciate capitalism and everything but outsourcing to other countries is just as bad for us as terrorist crashing planes into buildings you say we are not hurting anyone but in fact you are hurting the us economy for outsourcing stuff to India and other counties in fact you are a terrorist to the economy. I am not angry about it cause I lost my job to outsourcing but the rapid decline in technical jobs in the US is due to outsourcing to India and the Philippines sure its more cost effective to outsource but when you take high paying jobs out of the US and put them into another country the people that require your services begin to not be able to buy the things that you are trying to reduce cost because the jobs aren’t there for the people who would need your service. I am lucky I have no collage degree and I have a good job but when I make more then the average person with a collage degree you start to wonder why that is well its because all the jobs people go to collage for and get a degree are being outsourced to India. Nuff said.

I think that is the way this AutoCRAP thing is going, whether some people in theUS like you and me like it or not. The thing to remember is that if we, Americans, are using the same technology and software that is available worldwide, then those benefits (of technology)will be cherished by all...so we can't blame the worldd for wanting to participate in the ...they have a right.
so security lies in indiviual innovation...
I am not sure who they think is going to outsource to them from this list...though.....don;t they know we all like to "do our own REVIT.around here"..they must be desperate....I menan look at there name....wow, RAD , dude...

I'm not sure of how it is in other parts of the country, but at least in ours (Florida), it is illegal to outsource these services. According to liability guidelines and other regulations, work that is done on building projects has to be under the DIRECT supervision of the Licensed Architect. For those of you that don't understand, that means in the same physical location of the Firm and Architect. Obviously for larger firms with offices in various locations, there are circumstances that allow this to occur, but are usually still in-country. This, however, is for Construction Document type services.
Renderings, animations, and other services are still allowed because they have no Life-Safety impact.
I too am dismayed at the fact that work that could be done by local people is being outsourced to other countries. The disparity of the cost to do the work is what is driving this. We looked at what it would take one of our guys to do a rendering (this was before Revit, btw) with his hourly rate versus outsourcing to a South American Company. There was NO comparison as we simply were too high in cost. And they could get it done quicker.
As an American, I can't sit here and say that they shouldn't or can't do this. This is how every single company in American got started in one way, shape or form. It's Capitalism at it's best! Survival of the Fittest! And I applaud those in other countries who are trying so desperately to acheive the American Dream! Does that mean I have to like it - that it takes away a potential job from me or my friend? Or you? No. But being an American means sometimes you have to take some tough medicine.
It will be interesting over the next 100 years - that's for sure!
