ok here is one that i just can't explain. the other day i placed a zurn wall hydrant in revit 2014. i placed it on a wall that is part of a linked architectural file. i went to place another one today, and it won't let me place it on the wall. i just get that circle with the line through it. i checked to make sure that i can select linked objects, and that is checked. then i looked at the other one that i placed, and now i can't select it. i can select the linked model, and i can select the pipe that is attached to the wall hydrant, but i can't select the wall hydrant. how could i place it and move it yesterday, but not today.

please help :-(

In 2014, you have to pay attention to those icon switches in the lower right corner.

i've looked at it there too. and in 3D if i look at the plumbing fixtures it is not there anymore. but in plan view it is. all the rest of the plumbing fixtures are showing up. i'm at a loss.

i opened the Architectural file, and placed the hydrant in the wall, and it worked. i don't know why it won't let me place it in the wall when it's linked. i made sure that i could select the link.

what every it will work for now.

Is it a face based family?
