I get that I can make a material takeoff for general things in my design but if I wanted to find out how much insulation there would be in my house model is it possible to make a takeoff for that?

Is your material a separate layer or simply batt insulation in a cavity? You really should have told us.
- Obviously, if it is a sheet good applied as a layer, then just take that off in a material schedule.
- If it is batt insulation in a cavity, take off the area of your exterior walls. If metal studs, then that is your area. If wood studs, then you will have to factor appropriately.

it isn't a layer i was just hoping there was a tool that took the information from the wall type and calculated the insulation amounts needed
