Hello, 

Me and my flatmate are groupmates for a sports hall project and we would like to work from home on a local files related to the same central file. Any suggestions how we can set it up since we tried with regular DropBox procedure but it doesnt allow 1 of us to create a new local file!

Dropbox will not work. 

You can checkout worksets but there are problems with coordinating doing that.

We log into our office computer from hame and run that remotely.  This works.

Otherwise, look into a Revit server or cloud-based process.

I would probably avoid using Dropbox as your central file's direct location.  This could always be a great hub for sharing other parts of your projects like families though.
