My firm is working on a Revit file that has set up worksets and a central file. Three employees have their own local file to access the central file. When one tries to work on the file, an error message keeps appearing:"File is being accessed by someone else and is not available. Click cancel to stop the current operation and try again later or wait for the file to become available."This happens often, even when we try to save. We even tried to create a new local and central files and the issue is still present. How can we solve this?

You write "...Three employees have their own local file to access the central file...."  I would hope that all users only work in a local file.

Check your update frequency under the Revit R pulldown - options.  If you have a slow system this can help if it is less often.

Sorry, I copied and pasted that from an email I sent to an IT person where I had to spell it out for them.

But thanks, I will try that.  Also, this issue has just started happening once our IT guy updated our Windows Server.  I'm still on Windows XP while my other co-workers are on Windows 7.  I'm wondering if it has something to do with it.  I read something about it here:
