Is there any way to use the cut profile on a linked rvt file.  We have been using a white filled region for pocketed beam and beams that extend into walls.  I was just hoping for an easier way.

Yes, do the cut profile IN the linked file.  Winking  That is what we've done on a Rec Center project with beam cutouts.  The linked model was an existing building.  Make sure you put it on the correct phase.

I thought the cut profile tool was a graphics tool not a modeling tool  (since it it under the view tab).  Its a bit much to model, or have the architect model every pocket, for our structure.  Maybe this will be something they can look at in future versions.  We also run into this issue with showing minor braces that we do not model.

swdebenport - Note rbcameron2 said "IN the linked file...".   Edit cut profile is a 2D solution and only works in the view.  In order for that process to work, you would have to link a view of the linked model ...... and I'm not even sure that will work.

I don't like the idea of doing this.
