I would like to create "keynotes" per sheet. it is my belief that what I am looking for is different than the out-of-the-box Revit keynoting system.

I would like to have a keynote (# w/ bubble around it & leader) on the plan and a list (# & description) on the sheet. I would like to have the keynote to be linked to the list description so that if there is a keynote that is deleted that the others will adjust accordingly.

I read the pdf from the link you provided. I believe I followed the steps correctly for the custom keynote/ keynote legend. I created the keynote legend with number & description.  and I have it set to "by sheet." now when I place a keynote on the drawing a new prompt appears wanting me to choose which keynote from the legend to associate with said keynote in the plan. I choose which one I want and hit ok. but then the keynote on the sheet doesnt have a number.
