I'm trying to lay out some office furniture, but my pedestal cabinets are not showing through the counter like the kitchen cabinets do. I've tried editing the family to have the detail lines showing, a mask showing (like the kitchen cabinets), but still nothing. What am I missing?

The countertop is a modified regular countertop family, and it works as expected, but only with the kitchen cabinets.

Help...

(I'm on the trial version of 2014 but expect the full version before the end of the week)

there could be a few things happening here. Are pedestal cabinets below the counter? Likely you just need to ensure your counter is transparent or maybe represented with detail lines only. Maybe some screen shots would help, plan and 3d.

Yes, the cabinets are below the counter. I am using a floor hatch so I can't have the counter transparent. See screen shot.

"A" & "C" are different office cabinets that should show through. "B" is the regular cabinet that does show through. They're all placed at the exact same level, they're the exact same height.

May be after using floor hatch the issue can be minimised a bit but if  the counter of  office furniture be made transparent then the issue can be resolved permanentely.
