Hello there

I’m new to this Revit / integration stuff so please bear with me if this is a question that has been well documented before (I can’t find anything). This is for a first time import, I don’t have Robot on my machine and the Revit 2014 license is not a server license rather a stand-alone license for a single computer. The issues are:

1.         - I’ve been given a robot model file for a steel framed structure and I need to import it into Revit structure 2014 to commence the drawing and construction package.

2.      -  I have download the Robot Structural Analysis link and I have selected the ‘update project’ and ‘use Robot Structural Analysis RTD file’  and navigate to open it.

3.       - Everytime I try to import I get the message ‘ A structure project must be available in robot structural analysis’.

Does anyone have an idea/suggestions/help?

Many thanks

I haven't investigated the ROBOT connectivity beyond the theory and talking to those who have.

I didn't realize you could create a Structural model in ROBOT from scratch then inport it into REVIT. I thought the model had to originate in REVIT, then go to ROBOT then back into the original REVIT model.

Interesting work process. I like it if it works. I do know that the connectivity between the two apps is not perfect and does not import / export all the parts seemslessly.

I wouldn't get my hopes up. This isn't like importing regular software into each other. This is extremely sophistigated stuff.
