WE need the ability to specify the desired location for leader line connection to a tag!!!!  This center of tag crap ain't cutting it, I am forced to do stupid work arounds with invisible filled regions and it is stupid.  We NEED this like a meth head needs his next hit!!

Thank you and have a great weekend, hopefully it is meth free.

If you were more descriptive of your needs, maybe someone here could help you.

That was written in frustration.  I have multi line tags and to get the leader line to attach at a desired/specific location I have found that makeing invisible filled reigons is the best way to control the center point.  The default leader line location is the center of the tag, when it is a wulti line tag the center is not always the preferred location.  It would be nice to have some sort of "marker" or anchor point to which the leader would always attach.  I have attached a tag that has been manipulated to control the leader line attach point.

Not sure what you would call it but it would be some symbol that would be placed and would be invisible once loaded into the model, but would always be the point that the leader line eminated from.

Thank you for your prompt response.  I have read and re-read all of the forums comcerning this issue.  "Tag Leader origins" sounds promising but doesn't work in 2013.  The leader joins to the center of geometry independent of the insertion point/intersection of Ref planes.  To my kowledge, all be it limited, the only way to "control" where the leader attaches to the tag is to manipulate the geometry to control where that center point is, I use an invisible region to acheive this.  Please veiw RFA in earlier post.

If there was some sort of symbol that you could placed in family edit mode that would control where the leader attached to that would be a great help.

If perhaps I am missing something that should be clear on hwo to do this please illumiate me.  I would love to better control the leader line in more complex tags.

Thanks!

My tag leaders can come off either end of my tag or the top or bottom.  Please explain better your problem because I don't see one.  An image may help.

Yes they come off at the center of total geometry of your tag at the top, bottom, and each side.  If you have a multiline tag like the one I posted in this thread earlier and want the leader to come off the center of the bubble and not come off from the center of tag and "float".  The only way to do this is to cheat the center by createing a invisible filled region.

Please see attached, capture uses the invisible filled region, capture1 one is unchanged.  I would like to tell Revit, somehow, where the leader should attach without having to create extra elements.  It takes a lot of guess and test to get it to line up properly.

OK ... I agree, a point might be easier but we have learned to live with this.  You don't need an invisible region - invisible lines work too - like you can see in my # 1 attached.

The problem with using the invisible elements is that when you need a leader starting from the side where the invisible element is, there is a gap between the leader and the tag. Since so many people are having this issue I really think Revit should do something about it. Why not just have the leader start from the central axis of the tag? Seems simple enough.

I agree, I think a defined point would be great ... something like we  can do with room aware families.

Based on my experience the leader line comes in base in on the label's center, but that may be because my label is larger than my graphic for my tag. Would be nice to at least be able to set visibility to be able to see the center of these like you could in ACAD. Hum...
