So i have looked everywhere on the web and I keep seeing the same "solution" for my problem./ Is there any way to remove decal borders in realistic views in Revit 2013? The "X" is not showing but I cannot get the border to disappear. I have tried the overriding by element trick that is in posts as far back as 2011 and there is no option other than making the whole decal transparent which does nothing to the border. Is there a setting I am missing here? Thanks

No. I checked that thanks. It appears in the realistic view. Havent tried rendering it yet but my guess is that it disappears in th erender. For time sake though I like t o use the relaistic display option with edges and ambient occlusion shadows. Looks nice with lighting as well....

Depending on what type of material you've placed your decal on, you could create a new subcategory for generic models in your object styles and change the color of the lines in that new subcategory to a color that matches or resembles the material the decal is placed on. It's not perfect, but it's not black.

So how do I make the borders take on the new subcategory?

Select your decal and change the subcategory in the properties pallet.
