I used to be Revit-training.com but Autodesk forced me to give up my domain name. Before that I had a modest income from people all over the world who wanted to learn Revit but needed help learning the software. I am now 3DArchitect.info which has been a bust in terms of attracting students. My classes are online, interactive and limited to 8 people. They are priced reasonably below most of the competition. I have thirty years experience teaching CAD with 6 years teaching online.

How did they make you give up your domain name? How was that theirs?

Yes, but I guess I wouldn't see any difference between that and a blog with Revit in the name- of which there are hundreds if not thousands. Of course, they are usually hosted on a blog domain. Just seemed odd to me

The attorneys for Autodesk threaten you with legal action if you have a domain name using the word revit which

autodesk has trademarked. There is some justufaction for this as Autodesk must enforce their trademarks or lose them.

However, I spent years developing and marketing this domain name. I didn't believe I had the resources to fight the big Corp

and I wanted to stay in good standing with big brother. For me this was a partime job that helped augment my Social Security.

It's too bad Autodesk is so self centered they don't support those who have supported them over the years.

Lots of people got around this by either partnering with Autodesk (knowing the right people) or just straight up getting sponsored by Autodesk.  Ever heard of Revit Technology Conference and their website?

I suggest changing your strategy from Revit Training to BIM Training.  No copyright issues there.  You could expand your services to Revit, Navisworks, Bentley-ArchiCAD, etc... then.  Winking

Cheers!
