Hi!
I'm attempting to crop one of my views, but some of the text note items are still visible outside the crop region. These text elements are part of another model that's been linked into the project that I'm working on. I've been able to select the individual elements, but the option to hide the elements in view is GREYED OUT (although I am still able to select "Hide Category"). I've also tried masking the region where the elements are, but that isn't working, either. Help!!

Linked models can be controlled seperately in any view. VG / Linked Model tab / Custom setting - turn off text under the annoptations tab.
Did you know you have a seperate annotation crop box from the model crop box?

Adjust your annotation crop region. Make sure it is checked it your view properties, it's the dashed line that appears outside of the solid line of your normal crop region.

Hi!
Yup! I adjusted the annotation region. Yet, I am STILL unable to hide that particular element...WHY??

I see, that is strange. What type of element is that? Just text or is perhaps a room or space tag? I'm assuming you don't want to hide category because there are some elements you do want to appear in your view?

Could it be possible that the text is in the walk-in cooler family and not just text in the linked file?

That's right. I'd like to hide JUST that element. I think it's just text...?

I can create your problem but not solve it. When I set the link display settings in VG as shown, the text becomes visible and I can hide by category but not by element. Why not create your own text notes instead of trying to use the ones in the linked file?

Turn off the linked file text and see if it goes away. If it does, then it is Revit text, if not, then it is text in a family, or in CAD in the project or in a family.

I turned off the text category in the linked file and, sure enough, the text did not go away. How on earth can I get rid of this?? Is there a way to find out what family that text is in?? I'm lost past this point.
Also, I tried creating a masking region to hide the text. But that doesn't work EITHER. :-\

You will either have to tell the creator of the file to fix it or open up the linked file and fix it there.

Thanks for everyone's help!
Is there any other way you can think of of hiding the text? Perhaps a filled region?

>>click the crop region, annotation crop will appear then adjust.
