We're a small mep firm that is currently working with (2) Architectural firms. One firm is doing the office areas (that are outcroppings) and the other is doing the main warehouse area (which the outcropping areas are attached.

My question is this:

What is the best linking strategy, should all office areas be linked into the main warehouse area then this model would inturn be linked into our mep model, or would you link each individual office area into our mep model as well as the main warehouse area?

Additionally, is there any reason the firm responsible for the office areas wouldn't have these offices in 1 model and not broken up into 4 seperate models that have to be linked in seperatly?

There is no reason why I would have done these as seperate architectural models.

I think I would link each one into your MEP file - no reason for an intermediate file.

So you also have to copy/monitor each level in each seperate link, correct?

Ah.... I see where you are going.

Are they at different physical elevations and may change?  If so then obviously yes.

If not ... if they can't move independently, then one set would do it.

A bigger problem may be column grids.  If each project has a grid A then you are in trouble.  I have not experienced this and I don't know how Revit will handle that.   You may have some serious problems.

I delete multiple posts when I see them.  I believe they are caused by you using your back or possibly refresh buttons.

If the architect had sense enough to use one grid scheme - why not levels as well?

So now you have to link the grid model as well.........
