hi

i need to model road side drains that has slope varying from 1/500 to 1/1000

my problem is when the slope is higher than 1/572 , the annotation will then show [No Slope]

i used slab and slab edges to model drains. rvt 2013

any chance to adjust the slope limit, tolerance, if theres any?

"...my problem is when the slope is higher than 1/572.... You mean lower than - correct?

Look at your slope annotation units.  The default is this is set to your project units but you can edit this type or create a new type that has different settings.

NOTE:  This is true for all dimensions and anything that contains a dimension unit of any type.

yes, any slope lower than the 1/572.. lets say 1/573 will show [No Slope] instead of the 1/573 annotation.

i already modified my project units and annotation type to 1/Ratio.. and the rounding off to 3 digits

it doesnt matter how long or how short is my total length, as long it has slope 573 and lower, it will not display your slope when tagged... hoping you can try to re-create a simple slab with 1/572 and 1/573 slope arrow.

what am i missing? see attached file

thanks

I too can't get a slope here.  It appears to be outside of Revit's tolerances although it will build a slab to that slope.

I'm curious.  I don't know any construction material that builds to that kind of tolerance so why would you use a slope arrow?  This is basically a flat surface with respect to water.

hi

sorry for the confusion again,, but im asked to model a drainage system.

basically made of concrete slab and wall/slab edges to model. see attached photo

i can also use profile and massing,, but its the same, it cant give me slope when tagged

i am following a consultant drawing(plan and longitutional section) so i must model accordingly with slope of 1/500 to 1/1000. they migh ask to create a construction drawing or cut a section and check the drainage slope during the presentation

if this is revit's limitation.. then too bad. i must manually create text parameter to be tagged..

still hoping someone can help me,,, the data is there, slope is there, only the tagging got problem..

Doesn't spot elevations at the beginning and end of the slope tell the better story?

A slope that small can't really be measured in the field over short distances and therefore is worthless.   I limit my slope designation to items that are measured that way like roofs.  For site drainage, we only indicate there is a slope and we give the intermediate control elevations.  << Items you shoot with a transit.
