Is there a way to control the way revit does or does not trim beams in a strutural beam system? I understand that it wants to trim off the beam at the edge of a bearing condition, but that isnt (or may not be) how it works for a beam system on a bearing wall below. See the sketch.

Also why does it shorten the reported lenght of the beam.? How do you control that. Again, see sketch linked.
Thanks!

there are two length in beams. 'length' and 'cut length'.
'length' is from hinge to hinge for structural calculations, 'cut length' is real length of the beam object.
attached image should help.
