I am trying to model an existing stair and I cannot seem to get the geometry to generate. It looks fine in plan, and if I give tread and riser a thickness then they come out fine. Its the graceful curve thats missing.

Not to worry, got it to work with the 'new' tools and it generated the 3d ok. No automatic up arrow on the stair though.

mathill,

Out of curiousity, how did you resolve your issue?  I'm having problems generating a winding monolithic stair.  Are there typical reasons for why Revit won't generate?

Thanks.

It is an existing stair with fairly odd geometry so at first I just drew it old school 'stair by sketch' - and it would not generate 3D. So then I used 'stair by component' and after fiddling with the parameters it came out fine.

As for why revit will not generate 3d on monolithic winder stairs - I found no answers here or elsewhere on line. Non-monolthic stairs work using the same sketch, and there are not many things you can change. I tried breaking up the stair boundaries and revit just crashed.

Thanks mathill.  I ended up building it by sketch in two sections.  Had to make some adjustments to get them line up but it's better than I had.  Thanks for your help.
