Okay, i did the tutorial for creating a transparent mesh, but when i tried to make a wall with the material, the transparent parts aren't showing - it's a solid opaque block. I made a new basic wall and edited the structure to the new mesh material, but the mesh pattern and transparency isn't showing on the screen. Sorry if this is very basic, but how do i create a wall with that material? Is it not showing because of some setting that i didn't toggle? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v51/ruanna/revitmesh.jpg
If possible, i'd like the wall to look 3d - with a wall of a certain thickness, when looking at it from an angle, you should not be able to see through the holes in the wall. I tried modelling this out using masses to make bricks and arraying it to form a wall... so there's this effect of not being able to see through the wall at certain angles. Is there a way to create an actual wall with this effect? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v51/ruanna/wall5m.jpg
Edited to add : Okay... i tried making the wall completely transparent and setting the surface pattern to get the same effect that i want, but firstly the wall pattern seems to move as i spin in 3d, and any object i place behind it seems to float above the wall. Here, i took a screencap to show what i mean. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v51/ruanna/floating.jpg
