I can’t seem to figure out why my “move” tool only lets me move objects in horizontal/vertical lines (i.e. I can only move objects at right angles). I used to be able to select an object, select the “move” button, then select the corner of the object and move it to a specific point on my sketch (at any angle from the original point). Now the angle that shows up when I try and move an object is fixed at either 0 deg or 90 deg which prevents me from selecting points that are angled from my original point.
Has anyone else run into this problem? I can sometimes close down/re-open my Revit project and it will then let me move objects at any angle (i.e. not fixed at 0 deg or 90 deg) but I want to know how this flexibility is being removed and why!
Thanks in advance.

Some elements are constrained to horizontal x/y moves because of the way they were built, or by association to other objects or joining to other objects or dimensions. Also, multiple object selections sometimes cause this problem. Just too many to know what is constraining yours.
You can typically just hit the unconstrain switch on your options bar and then you can move them. If that doesn't work, you can also check the disjoin fuction but beaware that this will loose any associated tags or dimensions.

Thanks very much WWHub. Un-checking the "constrain" box in the options bar has released the orthogonal constraint. Appreciate the help!
