I'm new with revit, and very familiar with 3D and cad. I'm trying to make a reflected ceiling grid. I have a few questions, how do i insert fluorescent light fixture in the grid and/or also other accessories as ventillation objects. My second question is: can we rotate the ceiling grid. Thank you for your help. I'm glad that there is a Revit community.

Welcome to Revit....... Go to a refelected ceiling plan and insert the light fixtures. I'm assuming you found the light either in the imperial library or on this site. Any other accessory can be added to the ceiling in the same manner as long as it was created using the ceiling faimily. If you have and object going through a ceiling and its was not created in the ceiling family, you will have to edit out the ceiling in the area.

What Quiller means is thatyou need to create a "hole" around any projection through a ceiling otherwise the ceiling will still be shown in section. To do this when making a ceiling you could use the "pick walls" tool then use the sketch tool to trace around a chimney for example. Hope this helps.

I think this relates to my problem that I posted yesterday. What if the ceiling grid goes through the suspended linear light fixture? Do I need to cut a hole in the ceiling? In the RCP view, most fixtures cut the ceiling underneath them on their own. I don't get why just the suspended linear fixture doesn't? I have attached the fixtures to see if anyone that has more experience with families can help.
