Hello all,I've been experiencing some difficulty with a structural steel model sent over from my steel fabricators. Our Central Coordination Model is all being pulled of the origin point inside Revit the (Base Point) which are actual survey points from the Civil Engineer. The Structural Steel Detailer did not use this point in his Tekla model, so when I link the AutoCAD file he sent over his model is above our Building Model. Now since all of the other trades are working in Revit with the same base point there is no issue. I need to align his model into our model. How can I do this?

hi, based on experience the PB(project base point) should be 0,0,0 (in revit, tekla, cad, etc) and this should be discussed before the project kick-off.

you can refer from this link, page 15:  http://aucache.autodesk.com/au2011/sessions/4719/class_handouts/v2_AB4719-P_Kim.pdf

if its too late to adjust the coordinates, you can ask the structural detailer to set-up a shared coordinate, align your model again and acquire the shared coordinate (or vice versa).

I would simply link the CAD model in then from section or elevation views, move the model using the grids and level references.  Once located correctly, the reloads should work fine.
