I am trying to export a DWG file from Revit2012 to include a different layer for each room fill color that we have used (see image). 

I need to output different colored and named layers for each of the departments as we have specified in the room identity data, so each color fill area in the DWG is on a separate layer associated to its particular department.  The desired CAD layer name might look something like this: A_Color Fill_DepartmentX

We have a full Revit to DWG layer output file established, but it seems that it is not possible to associate each department to their own individual layers?   At present the DWG file outputs all of the room fills to the same layer like this: A_ ColorFill

Can anyone help with this?  I have tried to include images for reference.

You are correct - not possible from Revit.

Export all properties BYLAYER, and create new layers for overrides.
