Hi,

I have attached a plan extract of a butress detail to a building. I currently have this looking more or less as I wasnt expect where the RWP is, at this point I want to be able to insert a vertical reveal essentially removing the outer layer (solid grey) in that location. The reason I cant do this is because I have achieved the butress by drawing a wall extending out from the main walls and wrapping the end. It seems you cant insert a reveal to the wrapped end.

I considered doing the butresses as vertical sweeps but from what I can tell you can't do multiple profiles inside eachother to achiece the desired buildup?

I thought about modelling in place but not sure I would get the join of the walls correct?

Has anybody any other suggestions or advice? I'm fairly new at it so apologise if I'm goign about it the wrong way!

Many Thanks

Simon

If the walls are joined, you should have no problem adding a vertical reveal anywhere along the surface.  I don't know what you mean by "...you can't do multiple profiles inside eachother to achiece the desired buildup...".  You can do multiple sweeps if you need layers but if it is just a void stepped profile, that can be one profile.

You can consider also doing an in-place void or solid sweep.... or even a face hosted family.

Not enough information to give you the best recommendation.

WWHUB,

I apologise if that wasn't enought info, but you have given me some other options to try so thank you. Big part of the learning seems to be there are so many options for how to achieve the same outcome. It's hard to know which best suits.

Thanks
