I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to export column grid text out of Revit and into AutoCAD while keeping the text annotative. The reason we want to do this is if we end up twisting the viewport in AutoCAD we want the text to still be read horizontally. Currently when we export column grid text out of Revit and into AutoCAD is creates a circle, that comes in as a block, and a seperate MText with the column number or letter. Is this even possible?

".... if we end up twisting the viewport in AutoCAD..." Huh? You mean rotating the view in CAD?
If you want a "twisted view" - why not do it in Revit then export?

Rotate or Twist, either way we would like the text to remain hortizonal. Why don't we just export a new file? If we are referencing in the background and adding elements into the working file exporting a new CAD background would screw up the working drawing and all elements added to the working file would have to be moved again. We would just prefer not to have to export a new copy. There are plenty of work arounds to what we want to accomplish, we just want to how to make the text annotative, if it is possible.

Let me clarify further. We would like the circle and the mtext to become one block that is annotative. This way if we scale up/down the viewport in AutoCAD the circle and the text will size to the proper size.

"...We would like the circle and the mtext to become one block ..."<< OK - I can answer that. There is no way to do this from Revit that I know of. The blocks created from Revit is a system level process.
The sooner you get to a full Revit process - the better off you will be.
