I have a plan with true north rotated 39 deg from project north. I have created perspective views using the camera process and create a scene with specific settings for a time and place. When I render it the sun angles are not based on true north but appear to be oriented to the project north. I have tried creating the camera views utilizing plan views that are oriented to both true and project north. It doesn't seem to matter. I have also turned on the shadow setting (bottom left of work screen) and set shadows to a specific time and place. In this case the shandows are based on true north. Why the discrepancy, am I missing a setting in the rendering system? This is criticle because I am design shading devices for an existing home and need to show the client what will actually happen.

yes the setting is NOT checked for "use sun and shanding from view". Maybe I can clearify my problem. In the site plan view I use the button on the lower left of the image area that is "shadows on/off" clicking on this pulls up list in which I select "Advanced Model Graphics" and then select "Sun and Shadow Settings" from here I pick a precise time and date. The shadows look accurate. I then create a camera view and when displayed as a model (just a line drawing, no rendering, but with shodows on) the shadow angles look the same as the site plan discussed above. At this point I select settings from the rendering menu and create a scene with the exact same location, time and date as in the "shadows on/off" setting for the site plan. When I raytrace the image the shadow angles change and are not the same. I have set the angle rotation for true north to project north at zero to eliminate any conflict with this variable.
I have also tried setting directly the Azimuth and Altitude values to make the two shadow and shading match and they don't.
Any thoughts.
I hope this makes some sence to someone. Thanks for any help
