So if you couldn't tell I'm newer to the drafting field, and I have what may seem to be nub questions.  Can anyone explain to me what display order is, and what it does? Revit 2013

Display order controls the order of when drafting elements are placed on the screen ... in essence it controls what hides what.  It has no affect on model elements - they are controlled by real, 3D properties - what is in front of what.

So does the Detail Number control the order of the drafting view on the sheet?

NO....

Why do you ask this question?

Do you have over-lapping detail views on your sheets?

Please ask your questions directly. If we know what your final intentions are, we can help you better.

I am sorry for the confusion, I was chasing my own tail for a while trying to figure out what the architect wanted me to do with the project.  He meant discipline order, not display order.  I got ahold of him.  I was just trying to understand something that he didn't even mean.

I will make sure I ask questions with purpose from now on.
