Hey,
I'm working with a project where we have multiple imported categories placed (dwg files).
I've been working with annotations and figured out the following:
- The Revit annotations have snapped into the background dwg
- When hiding (for example keyboard command "HH") the imported dwg I will lose all the annotations too
- Changing the visibility for imported categories layers (dwg) is not an option because in the end I need to forward the Revit file only, no imported catogories included.
What should I do to get the annotations to be part of my Revit drawing instead of being linked into the imported categories (dwg)?

I'm not sure I'm following you. Revit annotation has nothing to do with linked in .dwg files. Is the annotation actually in the .dwg file?

You need to be a bit more specific about your "Annotations". Revit has many annotation categories. Are we talking about dimensions, keynotes, text, tags?
If you are dimensioning or using element keynotes on the imported DWG then they will disappear when you hide it. This is because they're dependent on the DWG, and without the DWG they would be floating in blank space. If you're talking about text then there should be no confusion; text added in Revit stays in Revit and can never become part of the DWG unless it's exploded, in which case the DWG is no longer considered an import.

Hello,Sorry for not being clear enough. I mean dimensions (aligned, linear etc.).rastamanCP had it right:I have a dwg on the background and I've been drawing new revit detail lines on top of them. Recently I've been trying to make annotations (dimension) but they snap into the dwg lines/data on the background. And when hiding the dwg my annotations disappear.
Is it possible to "force" the annotations to snap onto the revit data / lines / objects? How can I be sure which dimensions are part of my revit model and which ones are snapped onto the dwg?
Or is it possible to lock the dwg on the background?

While dimensioning check your status bar, if the highlighted element is dwg then click on TAB to cycle till the Revit element highlights and select.
